October 19, 2016 This page features a large engineering drawing that enlarges to three times its original size when hovering. This is a simple yet effective technique to use a massively large image on the web. The page was developed to distribute the information with a simple link to the page. Viewers can get access to the details of the image without having to receive a 5.4 MB PDF file. The original AutoCAD drawing, 7,200 px by 10,800 px, was converted to a JPG image format and reduced to one-third of original size. While hovering the zoomed image has about the same clarity of the original drawing printed on 24-inch by 36-inch paper. This is an effective technique for professionals like builders, architects, surveyors and engineers to display details of their work while protecting it from being downloaded.
Guiding follow-up on a Press Release Landing Page
September 29, 2016 Another example of landing page designed to correlate with a story in Charleston’s Post & Courier featuring our client, Insulsteel. They are announcing that Insulsteel was awarded “2016 Housing Innovation Award” from the US Dept. of Energy. Our goal is to guide the visitors to the meaningful content that is published on their site. The ‘left sidebar text’ welcomes them to the website and provides links to useful content. This is an easy way to publish the content while making the landing page something more than just a re-posting of the same article the visitor has already read. Publishing the content first gives us the SEO ownership and prevents us from a Google duplicate content penalty. Combining the on-line content and print media press release maximizes exposure.

Amelia Massage Video Landing Page
New video landing page developed for Amelia Massage Associates uses a published YouTube video creating a stunning and tranquil backdrop to a fairly simple page. When the new website was launched, their URL was also changed and their search engine ranking dropped from first place to about third-fourth place. A few weeks after the change, we saw their search engine ranking starting to rebound. The rebounding rank provided an opportunity to ‘soften’ the landing page. Having done its job, the search engine friendly page will be repurposed – continuing to work as a menu item.

Developing Video Landing Pages
Prospectus created a special Landing Page for the EABC Network using a ghosted video. Our client had a hard time understanding why we developed a special landing page. “Why not just use the home page?” “It is all about the stats.” We gain a better insight from our traffic analytics by creating this granularity. We can assume that a large number of hits on the home page have been directed there by the links from the newsletters. Likewise, we can assume that most of the hits on the landing page are from search engine traffic. The question for our client: are the members effectively using the site. With the search engine ldata separated from the analysis, it is easy to determine that they clearly are.
Understanding SE Indexing to maximize advertising reach
Understanding when Google, Bing & the other search engines index content and create keywords is crucial to leveraging print advertising. Print publishers offer access to thousands of potential new customers however, it is essential to publish the same content on your site to before the print ads run. Publishing several days in advance, helps insure the that curious readers using web will land on your site. If print advertiser publishes your content on their on-line edition (website) first, after the search engines index the content, the publisher will ‘own’ the keywords & content. Curious visitors will most likely end-up on the Publisher’s site. Publishing content on both the web and the magazine correctly will maximize your advertising expenditures.
Using opacity over a home-page background slideshow
August 31, 2015 This home page features a full screen background slideshow behind icons floating in semitransparent boxes. The boxes lead to six primary pages of services offered by Prospectus LLC. Hovering over each box loads a description of the menu items while changing the background to mostly opaque dark grey. Moving your mouse over the ‘live mini site’ displays the ‘hover description’ effect. The skill sets used to design a low impact community with AutoCAD are very similar to the skills needed to develop a website. Both rely on lots of creativity and a complete understanding of the technology to allow that creativity to shine. Understanding AutoCAD gives us a unique perspective to develop websites for professionals like builders, architects, surveyors and engineers.
Photo Montage Membership Page
August 10, 2015 We developed a ‘membership page’ for the European American Business Club (EABC Network.) featuring a photo of each member of the club. As viewers hover over each image, the contact information overlays the image. The contact information is clickable: clicking on the ‘company link’ will open that page in a new tab on your browser. Clicking on the email address will bring up your email client with the recipients address already embedded. All of this is designed to facilitate member communications. If you have club or group this is an easy format to display the membership and the membership information. The animated information overlays add some additional interest to the page. It is important that each page of a website is interesting and able to stand on its own.

What are dynamic websites
Dynamic websites change whenever new information is posted; a distinct advantage for the Wordpress platform. With Goggle’s Penguin and Panda updates, sites that don’t offer fresh content lose search rankings compared to sites that are frequently updated. The real advantage for Wordpress websites is the end-user can post new stories with minimal technical know-how. If you can use a word processor you can add fresh content. In the post Panda world, dynamic websites will constantly gain search rank position if the end-user diligently adds new stories. The life of the ‘static online brochure’ is essentially dead. A modern site is linked to a business facebook page, allowing visitors to seamlessly see what the customers are saying. This builds confidence, helping to encourage a purchase.
